Begin a Journey of Art and Storytelling
Oshkagoojin (pronounced oh-sh-kah-goo-jin) means “new moon” in Anishinaabemowin, a word for freshness and beginnings. My work weaves together stories, teachings, and creativity to spark connection, growth, and possibility.
About Nova
Anishinaabkwe niin.
I am an Ojibwe woman, my mother is from Rolling River First Nation and my father is from Sakgeeng First Nation.
I am a theatre creator, writer, and visual artist. I was raised with the teaching that knowledge carries a responsibility to be shared, especially with youth, so it can take root for future generations.
My practice blends traditional knowledge with art, performance, and storytelling. Whether through murals, theatre, or creative workshops, I build spaces for Indigenous voices, imagination, and new ways of learning.
